Melinda Kay is from a small town in eastern NC. She has been behind the chair for almost two decades and was a salon owner for 10. Ms. Kay is the epitome of southern charm.
When Melinda is not behind the chair, you can find her enjoying a glass of sweet tea, spending time with her children, or enjoying the mountains unless cold; she would then prefer an air-conditioned room. This calm and humble approach to life has formulated a haircutting style all her own.
Melinda has a passion for precision cutting, product education, and mentoring others. She has mastered a haircutting technique, the “Chop Suey,” and created a name all in her own, the “Dixie Pixie.” Her unique approach and a constant eye for detail make her one of the most sought-after artists in the country. Melinda has an eye for movement and texture, Y’all will see!
